Join the vibrant and innovative team at EGS Hobart. In this full-time position based in Hobart Tasmania, you will be responsible for providing efficient and accurate bookkeeping services.
What you'll be doing
* Maintaining financial records and accounts payable/receivable
* Preparing and processing payroll, including the calculation of employee wages, deductions, and tax obligations
* Reconciling bank statements and credit card accounts
* Ensuring compliance with relevant tax and accounting regulations
* Liaising with clients to address queries and provide support
* Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and other financial documents
* Continuously improving processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
What we're looking for
* Proven experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably within a small business or public practice environment
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and software (e.g. Xero)
* Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
* Proficient in data entry, financial reporting, and problem-solving
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with clients
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ideally, a relevant qualification or industry certification
