About the role:

The Contracts Administrator (Digital Health) plays a key role in supporting the effective administration of ICT contracts within the Digital Health Branch.

The position is responsible for maintaining accurate contract records, assisting business owners with contract-related queries, and ensuring compliance with departmental procurement policies and procedures.

The Contracts Officer works collaboratively with project teams and operational areas to facilitate contract renewals, amendments, and reporting, and provides timely information to inform procurement planning and decision-making.

The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders. The Contracts Administrator contributes to the delivery of high-quality commercial outcomes by supporting the branch's operational needs and helping to ensure value for money in ICT contract management.

About you:

The Department of Health is seeking a skilled and motivated Contracts Administrator to join its Digital Health team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-impact digital health initiatives that support better health outcomes for the community. Reporting to senior contract and program leads, the Contracts Administrator will play a key role in supporting contract management activities across a diverse portfolio of digital health projects.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to identify priorities, manage competing deadlines and implement systems that support effective contract administration and reporting. You will proactively monitor progress, identify risks or barriers, and adjust approaches to ensure contractual obligations and program objectives are met.

A core aspect of the role involves building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will work closely with service providers, project teams and government partners, taking practical steps to add value, address issues constructively and ensure stakeholder expectations are managed effectively.

The role requires sound problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to gather and analyse relevant information, consider issues from multiple perspectives and develop practical, well-reasoned solutions. You will also apply influence and negotiation skills to support contract discussions, manage objections and achieve outcomes that align with departmental priorities.

Experience in contract management is essential, including monitoring expenditure and service delivery against contract specifications, maintaining accurate records and supporting negotiations and variations. Mandatory

* Demonstrated experience in contract administration or procurement support, preferably within an ICT or public sector environment.
* Familiarity with contract management processes, including maintaining contract registers, monitoring milestones, and supporting contract renewals and variations.
* Experience providing guidance to business owners or project teams on contract terms, compliance requirements, and procurement procedures.
* Ability to interpret and apply relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements in contract administration.
* Proficiency in preparing and maintaining accurate contract documentation and records.
* Sound organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
* Experience using contract management or procurement systems is desirable.

Qualifications

* Contract Management Professional certification
* Qualification in business administration, commerce, law, IT or a related field
