**Salary - Clerk Grade 1/2: $38.71ph - $42.08p/h plus casual loading & superannuation**

**Your role**
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team and support DCJ in building a dedicated workforce for supervising family time.
As a Family Time Worker, you'll supervise and support family time visits between children and young people in out-of-home care and their families. You'll ensure the safety and well-being of children during these visits, transport them to various locations, and communicate effectively with everyone. Your role includes recording observations, providing basic coaching to parents, and maintaining accurate documentation in line with DCJ policies. You'll also handle administrative tasks to support team operations and ensure efficient service delivery.
**What you'll do**
- Supervise family time visits, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people, getting support from your Team Leader as needed.
- Communicate with children, young people, and families in a culturally sensitive manner to facilitate positive interactions during family time and transport.
- Transport children, young people, and occasionally parents or carers to various locations, including family time visits.
- Record observations and prepare documentation following supervised visits, ensuring accuracy and adherence to DCJ guidelines.
- Support administrative tasks to contribute to the efficient operation of the team and service delivery.
**What we're looking for**
**Effective Communication**: Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with children, young people, and families, while maintaining professional boundaries.
**Cultural Understanding**: Demonstrated understanding and respect for cultural differences, with experience in culturally sensitive interactions.
**Organisational Skills**: Strong skills in documentation and administrative tasks, with experience using relevant technology and maintaining accurate records.
**Resilience and Adaptability**:Ability to manage stress-related behaviour and navigate complex family dynamics while maintaining a professional demeanour.
**_Language skills are desirable._**
**Essential Requirements**
- Current NSW driver's licence
- Working with Children Check clearance.
- First aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one before commencing in role.
- The role may require some evening and weekend work.
