Our Adelaide office has a mix of technical specialists across a range of disciplines. We are seeking a Senior Ecologist (Botany or Zoology) to join our Ecology & Biodiversity team, with flexibility for Nuriootpa location as well.
Responsibilities
- Providing high quality service and advice in your area of expertise to clients and colleagues, in both office-based and fieldwork activities
- Participating in field survey programs to collect ecological data
- Interpreting and applying environmental legislation to projects across a variety of sectors
- Developing technical reports detailing outcomes of field surveys and implications for environmental impact assessment and management
- Assisting in preparing tenders and proposals
- Integrating technical work into multidisciplinary assessments and project teams
- Conducting independent studies, analyses, interpretations, conclusions and reporting findings
- Traveling to remote areas, including interstate, to conduct field survey programs
Skills And Experience
- A tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources or related field
- 5+ years' ecological experience in environmental consulting or an equivalent government role, including ecological surveys and report production
- Experience in designing and implementing flora and fauna field surveys and monitoring programs
- Excellent flora and/or fauna identification skills
- Knowledge of relevant State and Federal Environmental Legislation and approval processes
- Native Vegetation Council Accreditation is highly desirable
- Strong report writing and computer skills, with ability to produce high-quality written material for publication
- Proven ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Project management experience related to client management and budget control
