Overview
As our Assistant Accountant you'll play a key role in supporting the hotel's financial operations during the pre‐opening phase, soft opening and ongoing day‐to‐day business. You'll work closely with our Finance Controller, GM and department leaders to ensure the smooth running of accounts, payroll, reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities
Main Functions
* Manage Accounts Receivable using Opera PMS (billing, posting, debt follow‐up)
* Support Payroll processing and compliance
* Handle Accounts Payable: invoice processing, supplier reconciliations & payments
* Assist with Purchasing via Purchase Plus
* Prepare month‐end journals, reconciliations & reporting
* Maintain documentation and support audit/compliance requirements
Qualifications
* 23 years experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within hospitality
* Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll and General Ledger
* Experience using Opera PMS and/or Purchase Plus (ideal but not essential)
* Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills
* High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
* Excellent time management with the ability to prioritise
* Clear communicator with a proactive solution‐focused approach
* Full unrestricted Australian working rights
