A leading national infrastructure contractor is expanding their presence in Western Australia and is now seeking a
Regional Commissioning Manager
to lead transmission commissioning across utility, renewables, and energy infrastructure projects.
This is a
newly created leadership role
—offering the chance to build a commissioning function from the ground up, starting with a major HV transmission program and scaling across a growing WA portfolio.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Deliver end-to-end commissioning of
HV substations (132kV–330kV)
across both greenfield and brownfield sites.
* Lead and support complex testing across
secondary systems
, including:
* Protection schemes
, relay testing and configuration (e.g. SEL, GE, Siemens)
* SCADA
, automation, and control systems
* Interface with outage planning, switching schedules, and system requests
* Represent the business in front of utility clients and network operators.
* Build and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and technicians.
* Manage subcontractors and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
What You'll Bring:
* Strong commissioning background in
transmission (not distribution)

secondary systems

protection & control

* Solid understanding of
substation configurations
(breaker-and-a-half, mesh),
NEI regulations
, and
HV isolation procedures
.
* Confidence to engage directly with utilities and drive technical outcomes.
* A leadership style that's hands-on, structured, and team-focused.
* Based in WA or open to relocation.
