Consultant Psychiatrist General Adult Short Term Response
We are looking for passionate and dedicated mental health nurses who will work in nursing homes across Australia, focusing on adult care in Victoria.
Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk and needs evaluations.
* Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized care plans for patients.
* Administer and monitor psychiatric medications, observing and documenting effects and side effects.
* Deliver therapeutic interventions such as counseling, behavioral management, and psychoeducation.
* Monitor and evaluate patients’ mental state, behavior, and progress throughout treatment.
* Manage psychiatric emergencies and employ de‑escalation or crisis intervention techniques when needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Minimum of two (2) years of Registered Nurse experience in a mental health nursing setting from one of the following countries: New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, United States, Canada, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, or Singapore.
* At least three (3) years of total Registered Nursing experience overall.
* Experience in a nursing home setting.
* Applicants must be under 40 years old at the time of application.
* Registered with AHPRA or eligible for registration.
* Experience in one or more of the following mental health specialties: inpatient/general mental health, eating disorders, community mental health, forensic mental health, child and adolescent mental health, substance abuse and addiction services.
* Willingness to live and work in regional or rural Australia.

Locum Mental Health Registered Nurse
Play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care across all divisions of mental health nursing, including community, inpatient, acute, and more. This 12‑week contract (or longer) is available in regional and remote locations.
Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive mental health and risk assessments for adults in the community.
* Develop, implement, and review individualized recovery and treatment plans.
* Provide case management and evidence‑based interventions in line with best practice.
* Deliver outreach support to consumers in their homes or community settings.
* Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team of nurses, social workers, psychologists, and occupational therapists.
* Engage with families, carers, and community agencies to support consumer recovery.
* Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with clinical and legislative standards.
Candidate Profile
* Tertiary qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or Social Work.
* AHPRA registration or relevant professional association membership.
* RPN3 level.
* Strong understanding of trauma‑informed and recovery‑oriented care.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Current driver’s licence and own car.
Nurse Unit Manager – Mental Health Acute Inpatient Unit (South West VIC)
Full‑time, 40 hours per week, 3‑month fixed term, start ASAP, Monday to Friday business hours.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead and support a multidisciplinary team in a busy acute mental health inpatient environment.
* Manage clinical operations, staffing, and service delivery.
* Ensure high standards of safety, risk management, and recovery‑focused care.
* Support staff supervision, professional development, and performance management.
* Drive quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with legislation, including the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022.
* Collaborate with senior clinicians and stakeholders to enhance patient care and service integration.
What We’re Looking For
* AHPRA‑registered Registered Nurse with a mental health qualification.
* Postgraduate Diploma or Masters in Mental Health Nursing (or specialist MH undergraduate program).
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in mental health services.
* Proven leadership and management experience in an acute mental health setting.
* Strong communication, clinical governance, and problem‑solving skills.
* Victorian NUM or senior leadership experience in a MH inpatient unit (highly regarded).
