We are looking for an enthusiastic Lecturer Producing to join our Teaching & Learning team.
About the Role
Under the general direction of the Discipline Lead MA Producing and in accordance with Approved Curriculum, teach to a high level across courses in areas of expertise. Provide input and expertise to support the Discipline Lead MA Producing in the development and improvement of subject outlines, learning outcomes and assessment tasks.
Key Accountabilities
- Teaching: Teach students in courses in accordance with the Approved Curriculum, AFTRS Student Handbook and AFTRS Teaching and Learning Plan to achieve approved learning outcomes. Advise the Discipline Lead MA Producing immediately of any curriculum related issues.
- Assessment: Assess students in accordance with the Approved Curriculum and AFTRS Assessment Policy. Input assessment grades and feedback into Moodle, the Learning Management System, so they are available to students within the required timeframe.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development as determined by the Discipline Lead MA Producing.
- Student Referrals: Refer student requests for special consideration, issues relating to academic progression, reports of academic misconduct and other student related matters to the Program Convenor – MA.
- Administration: Ensure all relevant administrative work is completed, including timely response to student emails and attendance and participation in relevant course and discipline meetings.
- Representation: Participate on committees, review boards and panels constituted to deal with recruitment, content, student assessment and other student related matters as required.
- Industry Engagement / Research: The occupant of this position may be invited to participate in industry engagement or research projects within their academic workload.
- Procedure Adherence: Adhere to all local procedures particularly in relation to student and course related activities. Liaise with the support areas in accordance with established procedures and timelines in all support related matters. - Safe Working Environments: Create and maintain culturally and psychologically safe working and learning environments.
- Other Duties: There may be a requirement to undertake tasks outside the scope of the responsibilities listed to support the organisation. AFTRS will engage in a conversation should these tasks arise.
About you – You Have:
- Qualifications: Ability to meet the requirements of the Academic Employees Qualifications Policy.

- Teaching Experience: Relevant teaching and/or mentoring experience.
- Industry Experience: Substantial commercial industry experience in relevant discipline areas.
- Time Management Skills: Ability to work independently, use initiative and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
- Collaborative Skills: Strong relationship building skills including the ability to build rapport and trust, negotiate and influence, and design effective collaborative workflows.
- Communication Skills: Communicate effectively orally and in writing, adapting the message for a diverse audience in and inclusive and accessible way.
- Safe Work Environments: Experience in fostering culturally and psychologically secure work environments.

Salary: AFTRS Academic 2, Tier 2 ($117,386 pro-rata) + 15.4% super, and excellent benefits.
