About the role
We are seeking an experienced Stock Controller Manager to take ownership of inventory management, materials planning, and warehouse operations at our Crestmead facility.
This full‑time role is pivotal in ensuring that the right materials are in the right place at the right time to support efficient production and on‑time delivery of our modular buildings.
You will lead the stock control and warehouse team, oversee all incoming and outgoing materials, maintain accurate inventory records, and work closely with production, procurement, and project teams to align stock levels with current and upcoming workload.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, hands‑on manufacturing environment and who enjoys building robust systems, processes, and discipline around stock accuracy and material flow.
What you'll be doing
Oversee end‑to‑end stock control for the Crestmead facility, including purchasing support, receipting, storage, issuing, and stock‑take activities.
Manage day‑to‑day warehouse operations, including goods in/out, put‑away, picking, packing, and internal deliveries to the production floor.
Maintain accurate inventory records in our systems (ERP/warehouse software), ensuring stock levels, locations, and movements are recorded in real time.
Develop and implement stock control procedures and visual systems (labelling, locations, min/max levels, Kanban or similar) to reduce stockouts, over‑stocking, and waste.
Monitor and manage critical materials and long‑lead items to ensure availability for production and project schedules.
Conduct regular cycle counts and full stock‑takes, investigating and resolving discrepancies and identifying root causes.
Work closely with procurement and production teams to forecast demand, plan materials, and support production scheduling.
Coordinate warehouse layout to optimise space utilisation, safety, and material flow.
Ensure materials are delivered to production teams on time, in full, and in the correct quantities and locations.
Oversee the care and maintenance of warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, racking, etc.) and ensure inspections and servicing are up to date.
Lead, coach, and allocate tasks for warehouse and stock control staff, promoting a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Enforce WHS standards and safe work practices in all warehouse operations.
Identify and drive process improvements to improve stock accuracy, reduce manual handling, and support overall factory efficiency.
Lead and co‑ordinate the weekly move of the module in the factory ensuring the greatest efficiency is achieved for the workforce and factory.
What we're looking for
Minimum 3–5+ years' experience in stock control, inventory management, warehousing, or a similar supervisory role.
Experience in construction, modular manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial/manufacturing environments is highly desirable .
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control principles, and stock management processes (cycle counting, stock‑takes, min/max levels, etc.).
Proven ability to lead and motivate small operational teams in a hands‑on environment.
Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and problem‑solving abilities.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines.
A practical, proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement and tidiness in the warehouse.
Forklift ticket, White Card, and other relevant industry tickets.
