SERVICE MANAGER – HD PUMPS (Winnellie, NT)

HD Pumps is a trusted name in the pump and water equipment industry, dedicated to Making Water Work through quality products and expert service. We are seeking a hands‐on Service Manager to lead our Winnellie Service Department and drive performance, safety, and operational excellence.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is not a desk‐only management role.
As Service Manager, you will take ownership of the day‐to‐day operations of our service department, leading from the front to ensure workshop and field service activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
You will be actively involved in job flow, quoting, and problem‐solving, while leading a team of technicians and apprentices and maintaining strong customer relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead and manage the service department, including technicians, apprentices and support staff
* Oversee job scheduling, workflow, and timely completion of service work
* Prepare and oversee quoting of all service work, including personally quoting jobs as required
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with OH&S requirements
* Monitor productivity and ensure chargeable hour targets are achieved
* Maintain strong communication with customers and stakeholders
* Oversee invoicing and job documentation accuracy
* Manage workshop, tools, vehicles, and equipment
* Control inventory and parts for service operations
* Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and team performance
ABOUT YOU
You are a practical, hands‐on leader who is comfortable balancing leadership with technical involvement.
To be successful, you will have:
* Trade qualification (electrical, mechanical or fitting)
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Proven ability to lead from the front and support your team on the ground
* Experience in pumps or related water equipment (highly regarded)
* Ability to manage workflow, priorities, and deadlines in a fast‐paced environment
* Strong problem‐solving skills and attention to detail
* High level of customer service and professionalism
* Solid computer and administrative skills
Additional Requirements:
* Must be an Australian Citizen (site access requirements)
* Ability to pass a National Police Check
Licences:
* Manual Driver's Licence
* Forklift Licence (or willingness to obtain)
