This well-known transport company is ready to add to its Operations Team based near the Adelaide Port precinct.
Your focus, as part of the team, will include accepting and entering customer bookings, and liaising with customers regarding site requirements, empty container availability and documentation required for import/export.
You will work closely with Fleet Controllers to ensure we meet customer expectations and will learn a range of functions within the team to provide support in peak periods and staff leave.
Other functions include:
Accepting and confirming bookings for import/export jobs;
Ensuring we have all appropriate information and documentation well in advance of the required job timeframes;
Entering jobs into software to enable them to be scheduled by the Fleet Controller for allocation to drivers based upon vessel arrival;
Liaising with the Fleet Control staff who are managing the drivers and transport services and providing feedback to customers as required;
Creating and sending accurate invoices to customers upon completion of service delivery;
Tracking incoming payments, applying them to the correct accounts, and first level follow up on overdue payments;
Providing general information to customers regarding our service capabilities, while looking for opportunities for further expansion of the relationship;
Data entry into various software programs, including systems used internally and those of the Container Terminal and various container parks;
Relief duties for other Operations Team members as needed and general assistance to Managers as required;
Liaising with the Sales team regarding quotes that are being converted to jobs or other opportunities as appropriate;
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
Experience in Customer Service within the Transport and Logistics Industry.
If you've worked in Container Transport/Wharf Cartage that's a plus, but more important is your understanding of customer expectations and critical control points in completing a transport service;
Customer focused to maintain required service levels and meet the customer's needs;
Excellent team skills to work closely with the Fleet Controllers and others in delivering on our promises:
Working knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (Fatigue, Speed, Mass, Load Restraint) and ideally an understanding of Dangerous Goods and other road transport principles;
Experience using various administrative and information systems.
