**In this role, you'll**:
Provide a specialist surveillance capability in a wide-ranging skill set including Electrical, Communications Network, equipment installation works, WHS management and program monitoring. You’ll be expected to lead highly complex or specialist surveillance activities on nominated contract works for the administration of construction works to ensure delivery in accordance with client time, quality and scope requirements.
Key accountabilities include:
- Providing a specialist, non-routine surveillance capability in support of Agency works to verify that work has been performed in accordance with applicable standards, specifications and processes.
- Monitoring, supporting and influencing development/delivery partner progress against agreed milestones and deliverables to support the Agency’s program of work.
- Coaching and mentoring less experienced Surveillance Officer, engineering and project staff to reinforce best-practice surveillance and project practices within their sphere of influence.
- Acting as a source of technical advice for trades, engineering and project staff within their area of specialisation to build capability and improve project and/ or maintenance outcomes.
This is a temporary full-time role up to 24 months. The home base is Newcastle, and some travel will be required on occasion, including overnight stays to North and Sydney regions for surveillance works on lift span bridges, ferries and tunnels.

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have relevant qualifications relating to road, bridge or tunnel construction, maintenance or project management.
Demonstrated experience in bridge, road, or tunnel related maintenance, capital works and safety and environmental management will ensure your success.
You have previous solid experience in the site management of contractors, and the coordination of multiple multi-disciplinary contractors on site, as well as advanced knowledge and experience in standards and policies related to bridge, road or tunnel construction or maintenance works.
You have the ability to work collaboratively and use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong constructive relationships with stakeholders in a construction and/or maintenance environment.
You’re proactive and use your initiative and attention to detail to get things done and resolve issues independently.
You hold a current unrestricted NSW Motor Vehicle driver’s licence.
