Responsibilities
* General Duties
o Undertake teaching duties in the VSL Distance Education Section as directed by the Principal.
o Perform additional duties as directed by the Principal.
* Teaching Duties
o Prepare, evaluate, maintain, and revise courses and related curriculum materials.
o Develop explanatory and support materials, including introductory booklets for distance learners.
o Create and revise online courses where appropriate.
o Provide additional teaching support via print, e‐mail, videoconferencing, face‐to‐face or other online delivery methods.
o Correct and assess student written, graphic, and oral work delivered through various media.
o Maintain records of student interactions, oral lessons, seminars, assessment records, and reports on student progress.
o Prepare reports, administrative materials, and liaise with supervising schools or parents/guardians.
o Conduct student interviews, counselling and provide assistance to students experiencing difficulties.
o Participate in child‐safe and inclusion programs as directed by the Distance Education Manager.
o Assume any administrative or organizational responsibilities such as faculty or leadership roles.
* Implementing Child Safe Standards
o Be familiar with the DET and VSL Child Safe Strategy.
o Implement the VSL Statement of Commitment to Child Safety and the Child Safety Code of Conduct.
o Assist with implementing the VSL Principles of Inclusion for culturally diverse, linguistically diverse, disabled and Aboriginal students.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
* Completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching program or equivalent after 1January____.
* For ITE graduates after 1July____, passed the literacy and numeracy test (LANTITE).
* Proficiency in VCE German and ability to teach it in a distance learning environment.
* Extensive computer and internet skills and experience with VCE Language Study Design.
* Ability to use data to inform teaching practice and provide feedback on student learning growth.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and capacity to work collaboratively with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community.
* Demonstrated commitment to the department's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.
Who May Apply
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach Australian Curriculum languages, specifically German.
