Fire Protection Technician Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Fire Protection Technician. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our clients' fire protection systems.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Fire Protection Technician to work on a permanent full-time basis with multi-site responsibility. The successful candidate will be based in Darwin and will be required to travel to various locations throughout the Northern Territory.
* Inspect, test, maintain, service, and install all dry fire systems and firefighting equipment to AS1851-2012 and/or OEM standards.
* Conduct routine inspections and servicing of portable fire systems and equipment.
* Installation of portable fire systems and equipment.
* Assist in preparing customer quotations and identifying remedial work.
* Liaise directly with clients regarding service work.
* Conduct facility maintenance.
* Commit to workplace safety and good work practice.
Requirements
* 2-5 years' experience within the fire industry.
* 1-3 years' experience in testing and service.
* Cert 3 in Electrotechnology.
* FPAS Accreditation (desirable).
* White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
* Ability to carry out inspection on fire equipment to AS 1851 standards.
* Basic knowledge of AS1668, AS1670, AS2220, ASS009, and AS3000.
* Ability to program would be optimal, as there is currently a large gap in that skill set within the team; also happy with a decent tester who is able to test panels.
* Current Driver's License.
* Must be happy to travel.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
* Must be able to secure a Police Clearance.
* Must be able to pass a standard pre-employment medical and pass drug and alcohol screening.

In addition, they will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
