The Role:
This is a pivotal senior leadership role at the centre of a privately owned construction and development business.
We are seeking a Commercial & Capital Strategy Lead to act as the commercial conscience and financial architect to the Managing Director. This role exists to shape the future of the business, not to report on historical performance.
You will own whole-of-business financial planning, capital strategy, and scenario modelling, providing clear options and recommendations on where to deploy capital, which work to pursue, and how to manage risk as the business grows.
This is not a QS role or a compliance-focused finance position. It is a thinking-led, judgement-heavy position with genuine influence over direction, timing, and scale, and a clear pathway to CFO-level responsibility.
What You'll Do:
* Own whole-of-business financial planning and forward-looking commercial strategy
* Maintain rolling views of margin, overhead and cashflow to support proactive decisions
* Build scenario models for wins, losses, delays, cost movements and capital Constraints
* Provide clear, executive decision options and recommendations directly to the Managing Director
* Support tender and pipeline decisions by evaluating commercial risk, timing and profitability
* Lead capital and development feasibility thinking, shaping where and when the business invests
