ROSTER: 9:5 (Residential or FIFO available)

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will support the business by providing technical direction to the maintenance and project teams, improves existing electrical infrastructure and ensures that installation and operations conform to standards and requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings and process flow.

You will also develop company standards for use throughout Norton and assist that all statutory obligations are managed and recorded. The Senior Electrical engineer will support the maintenance team with fault finding, condition monitoring improvement projects and major upgrades and equipment procurement.

KEY DUTIES AND TASKS

* Lead and review electrical designs to ensure compliance with Australian Standards and project specifications
* Oversee electrical QA/QC processes, including development and implementation of Electrical QA/QC plans
* Supervise and audit on-site electrical installation works, ensuring quality and safety standards are met
* Review, witness, and sign off ITPs and ITRs, including critical inspections and testing
* Identify, document, and manage non-conformances, ensuring timely corrective actions
* Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including site walkdowns and system energisation
* Develop and manage electrical punch lists through to close-out
* Provide technical input into commissioning plans and support handover to operations
* Collaborate closely with project teams, contractors, commissioning teams, and regulatory authorities

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor degree in Electrical/Power Engineering (essential)
* Valid Australian HV Switching Certificate (or equivalent)
* Statutory Supervisor (Schedule 26) training and certification
* Construction White Card

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Minimum 10 years' experience in electrical engineering or supervision, with at least 4 years in a senior or leadership role within mining or minerals processing
* Strong experience managing QA/QC systems, including ITPs, ITRs, and non-conformance management
* In-depth knowledge of Australian Standards, electrical safety regulations, and mining codes of practice
* Proven capability across HV/LV systems, MCCs, VSDs, protection systems, and control systems
* Strong ability to review and interpret electrical designs, SLDs, drawings, and specifications
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor engineers and supervisors
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
* High attention to detail with a strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance
