Facilities Maintenance Coordinator

About Yara Pilbara

The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world and we have also taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica. Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara will also build a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to join our Maintenance & Reliability Team at Yara. This is a critical role responsible for coordinating central services, managing civil and fabric maintenance projects, and ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance execution across site.

You will play a key role in driving operational excellence, contractor performance, and compliance within a Major Hazard Facility environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Coordinate and manage all non-plant service activities including weeds management, pest control, waste services, and temporary and permanent site infrastructure
* Oversee and coordinate civil works in collaboration with the Civil Engineer
* Manage fabric maintenance CAPEX projects across YPF/YPN sites
* Develop detailed scopes of work and actively participate in the tendering process in collaboration with Procurement
* Plan, schedule, and manage maintenance and service jobs within SAP, including budgeting and resource allocation
* Ensure the safe and effective execution of both planned and reactive maintenance activities in line with the maintenance plan
* Respond to unplanned disruptions and implement practical short-term solutions to maintain continuity
* Monitor and enforce compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), isolations, and safety procedures
* Maintain strong oversight of contractor performance, including leading review meetings and verifying invoices and timesheets
* Track and maintain Yara-owned maintenance assets (e.g. welders, generators, lighting towers, tools)
* Ensure forklift maintenance and compliance requirements are met
* Safeguard effective communication and information flow between stakeholders to support efficient maintenance execution
* Drive high standards of safety, quality, and reliability, contributing to continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities
* Support achievement of site safety targets, including zero LTI, and actively participate in safety initiatives such as WOC inspections
* Contribute to budget management, including cost control of facilities-related activities and input into budget planning
* Provide leadership and support to maintenance teams and contractors, stepping in for Service Coordinators as required
* Contribute to departmental planning, KPI tracking, and ongoing improvement initiatives aligned with company strategy and values
* Participate in emergency response and site safety roles (e.g. Fire Warden, First Aid, Muster Marshal) as required

About You

* Trade Certificate in a relevant building discipline (desirable)
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a tradesperson
* Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience managing contractors and teams
* Experience in petrochemical, gas processing, or oil refining environments (highly desirable)
* Intermediate to advanced MS Office and Excel skills
* Strong working knowledge of SAP
* Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Safety-focused with a proactive and team-oriented approach
* Fluent in English (written and verbal)
