Refrigeration technician position

Your new role –As the Refrigeration & HVAC Technician, your primary responsibility will be conducting Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across all in‐store refrigeration and HVAC assets. This includes:
* Refrigeration cases
* Cold rooms
* Refrigeration racks
* Mechanical services
* Air‐conditioning plants
You will also provide a full reactive repair service, responding to refrigeration or HVAC breakdowns received directly from store team members or logged through the Help Desk integrated with COMS.Your role requires proactive servicing, fault‐finding, and maintaining a high level of workmanship to ensure service quality and customer value.
What you'll need to succeed – Essential qualifications
* Refrigerant Handling Licence
* Restricted Electrical Licence
* Certificate III in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
* CPR/Low Voltage Rescue Certificate
Preferred / desirable qualifications
* Scissor Lift Operator's Licence
* Training or experience in Occupational Health & Safety
Experience & expertise
* Strong hands‐on experience in commercial refrigeration and HVAC—ideally within a supermarket environment
* Proven ability in PPM, fault‐finding, and delivering high‐quality service
* Experience in air conditioning and mechanical services (desirable)
* Experience in energy management (desirable)
* Experience with HVAC and building controls (desirable)
* Intermediate computer literacy including MS Office
Physical requirements
* Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces
* Capability to lift, move, and handle equipment or tools as required
* Comfortable working above shoulder height and operating tools at elevated positions
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
* Able to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
* Comfortable working at heights with appropriate lifting equipment
* Ability to wear PPE, including facemasks in accordance with safety policies
