WHO ARE WE?
Founded in 1984, the Rirratjingu Aboriginal Corporation (RAC) represents the Rirratjingu people, the Indigenous Traditional Owners of Land on the Gove Peninsula. The Corporation's aim is to ensure the Rirratjingu community is financially self-sufficient and able to deliver benefits to our members and make a genuine difference in our community.
POSITION PURPOSE?
The Infrastructure Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of delivering on projects within the Corporation's Infrastructure Fund, including initial scoping / feasibility and development of project management plans with financial forecasts for consideration by an Infrastructure Project Control Group. This role will also be responsible for, and accountable to, the financial management of these projects and this will include supplier vetting and selection, raising of orders as required and reporting against pre-determined financial metrics back to the Project Control Group. Projects other than those within the Corporation's Infrastructure Fund will likely fall to this role in due course.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES?
• Conduct scoping / feasibility work and project management plans for consideration by the Project Control Group
• Monitor and update the status of outstanding work orders to ensure timely completion and accurate reporting.
• Liaise with subcontractors to confirm job progress, resolve queries, and ensure compliance with contractual and safety requirements.
• Support the management of OHS documentation, ensuring all training records, licences, and compliance certificates are up to date.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and databases related to project activities.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
• Report actual and financial project against budget in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate accountability and ownership in managing projects from inception to completion.
• Lead by example in maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and customer service.
• Promote a positive and respectful team culture through clear communication and collaboration.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & LICENCES REQUIRED?
• Working Rights in Australia
• Driver's License is essential
• Working with Childrens Clearance (or ability to obtain one)
• Trade qualifications together with a project / financial management qualification
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED?
• Previous experience in an infrastructure coordination role, preferably within maintenance, facilities management, or construction.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail with accurate data entry and record-keeping skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn industry software such as Aroflo and
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Understanding of basic Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles and documentation requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
• Experience using project management systems.
• Strong knowledge of procurement and invoicing processes.
• Familiarity with compliance and contractor management systems.
