Our mission is to empower individuals and families affected by mental illness.
As a Family and Carer Peer Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting these individuals, helping them cope with the challenges of caring for someone living with a mental health condition.
You will work closely with families and carers to provide emotional support, guidance, and individual coaching to enhance their well-being and coping strategies.
In addition, you will assist families and carers in accessing relevant services, promote mental health education programs, and establish links with service providers and community groups.
Our ideal candidate has a Diploma in Mental Health or a related field, previous experience in a support worker role, and excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
They must also be able to work autonomously, as part of a team, and demonstrate empathy and understanding of mental health issues and disabilities.
Requirements
* Minimum of a Diploma in Mental Health or Community Services-related discipline
* Previous experience in a Support Worker or related role
* In-depth understanding of mental health issues and disabilities
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
