Position Overview
We are seeking an ARC Grant Funded Researcher to focus on the computation of carbon-based materials for clean energy conversion reactions.
This role involves computational modeling and theoretical investigations of carbon-based materials, including simulations to understand reaction mechanisms and applying machine learning techniques to accelerate materials discovery and optimization.
Research Environment
The position is funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence for Carbon Science & Innovation. The successful candidate will work within the Centre for Materials in Energy and Catalysis alongside a diverse team of scientists and engineers. The research is interdisciplinary, combining materials science, energy applications, and advanced computation including machine learning. This offers a unique opportunity to collaborate globally.
Qualifications and Skills
* A recent PhD or near completion (within 6 months) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related fields.
* Expertise in computational materials science/engineering, especially related to clean energy reactions such as water splitting, CO2 reduction, N2 reduction, or C-N coupling.
* Experience with machine learning applications in materials science.
* Effective collaboration skills across disciplines.
* Strong teamwork skills suitable for a multidisciplinary research center.
