Maitland Regional Art Gallery - Trainee

We are looking for a passionate individual to enter our pathways program, where you will undertake a Traineeship in Certificate IV in Arts Administration. This role will provide you with a range of experience across the different functions across the Galleries team.

Known locally as MRAG, each year the gallery shows thousands of artworks and creates hundreds of learning activities across 25 exhibitions annually, while sharing the 7,000+ art collection. The award winning building is as much a part of the experience as the artworks on display, the gallery offers a great diversity of spaces including exhibitions, workshops, café lunches, shopping, talks, tours or events.
About the Role

Commencing in January 2024, for a period of two years, the role is formally known as 'Maitland Regional Art Gallery Trainee'.
The Traineeship will see you undertake a Traineeship in Certificate IV in Arts Administration, and will gain exposure across the different roles you will perform, including providing exceptional front of house administration, curatorial services, exhibition support, and customer service to Council's internal and external stakeholders.
About You
The position will be suitable for candidates who have recently completed High School, or who may be looking for a change of career and an opportunity to gain experience in the arts sector and local government.

Benefits
This Traineeship position is temporary full time two-year contract with a salary range of $19,983 up to $40,580 per year plus 11% p.a. super depending on age/years out of High School. Council also covers the cost of all education fees and gives trainees access to staff benefits such as flexible working arrangements & fitness passport.
