About the role Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking a full time Ward Clerk to work across a diverse role that supports Perioperative Services and plays a vital part in the day-to-day function of our theatres. Key responsibilities include: Welcome and assist patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression Answer phone calls and handle inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality, directing them to the appropriate personnel as needed Provide administrative support to the Nurse Unit Manager, including scheduling, correspondence, and coordination of meetings Assist VMOs (Visiting Medical Officers) with administrative tasks, ensuring smooth operations and patient care Accurately record and maintain patient data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with hospital policies Assist with Theatre bookings when required Essential criteria: · Ability to work as part of a team · Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills · Experience in a hospital administration environment preferred · Ability to prioritise and organise work, with minimal supervision · Excellent customer service, organisational and communication skills High level attention to detail · Flexibility, reliability and ability to work under pressure · Excellent time management skills with an ability to work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team .Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Have demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development A basic understanding of Medical Terminology About us Established in 2016, Gold Coast Private Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 339-bed facility located in the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct in Southport.
