After School Care Assistant Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide after school care study supervision to students. Students will be supervised in the library from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, as required.
Key responsibilities include:
* Actively supervising students in the library and encouraging them to complete homework and quiet activities when there is no homework;
* Maintaining a safe, welcoming, and respectful library environment for all students;
* Completing handover tasks with the library technician at the end of the shift;
* Shelving books on the trolley and tidying shelves to ensure the library is neat and organized;
* Processing books by covering them as required and restocking supplies such as photocopier paper and staplers;
* Ensuring the library is closed down properly at the end of the shift by switching off lights and TVs, and locking doors;
* Being aware of any relevant medical information provided about students;
* Attending professional development sessions as requested.
This role requires a person who can work independently but also as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have good verbal and interpersonal skills, enjoy interacting with adolescent boys and girls, and have experience and/or qualifications appropriate to the position.
