Murray Irrigation operates Australia's largest private water supply network, supplying over 2,200 farm businesses and landholdings across the southern Riverina in NSW. We are dedicated to supporting our local communities and promoting sustainable water management practices.
We are looking for three Software Engineers (Two Year Fixed Term Contracts with likely renewal) to join us as remote workers:
* 2 x Frontend Developers (with some interest in full stack)
* 1 x Full Stack / Backend Developer
Your work will directly support the platforms that deliver water to our farmers, communities, and environment; critical infrastructure that underpins regional growth.
What you'll do
* Design and build applications using modern tech (React,, C#, Python, .NET).
* Work in an agile team that values collaboration, peer review, and shared ownership.
* For frontend roles: create responsive, user-friendly interfaces with React, and occasionally step into full stack work.
* For backend roles: develop scalable services and APIs, working on mission-critical apps that control or monitor over 5000 field devices.
* Contribute to architecture discussions, CI/CD improvements, and automated testing.
What we're looking for
* Frontend Developers: Proficiency in React (TypeScript/JavaScript), with interest in backend (Python, C#, .NET).
* Full Stack / Backend Developer: Strong backend skills in C#, Python,, or .NET, plus experience with microservices and API design.
* Solid debugging and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and a collaborative mindset.
Nice to have
* Experience with SCADA (Especially WINCC OA) or distributed control systems.
* Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or DevOps practices.
