Software Engineer Intern at Atlassian, working remotely, contributing to cloud and core product development in a 12-week paid program.
Your Role
Here's what you will be doing:
* Use computer science foundation and software skills to solve challenging problems with minimal bugs.
* Work as part of a unified R&D team focused on cloud migration and core products including Jira, Confluence, Trello, and Bitbucket.
* Make code changes that directly impact Atlassian products from day one.
* Report to Senior Engineers and develop new features for immediate product release.
About You
The company is looking for:
* Commitment to a 12-week full-time (40hrs/week) internship from November 2026 to February 2027.
* Current full-time enrolment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field, with graduation by January 2028 and intent to return to studies post-internship.
* Proficiency in Java, Python, C, C++, or other object-oriented programming languages through coursework or personal projects.
* Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and their practical applications.
* Preferred: software engineering experience via internships, work, projects, open-source contributions, or publications.
* Preferred: interest or exposure to AI/ML concepts, machine learning frameworks, or emerging AI technologies.
* Preferred: basic understanding of system design and common design patterns.
