About the role
The Commercial Finance Manager is a pivotal role reporting to the Head of Finance, combining strong financial control ownership with advanced budgeting, forecasting and modelling capability. Managing one small team, this role partners closely with senior leadership to strengthen reporting integrity, enhance commercial insight and improve decision-making across the business.
Duties
* Lead the finance team to drive function performance with P&L & BS ownership
* Own and enhance the month-end close and balance sheet integrity
* Build and maintain a robust three-way financial model (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
* Lead annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasts
* Deliver scenario modelling across stores, leases, margin and capex initiatives
* Provide clear variance analysis and commercial commentary
* Partner with Retail, Merchandising and Supply Chain leaders
* Drive automation and process improvement across finance
* Mentor and develop a junior team member
Skills and Experience
* CA / CPA / CIMA Qualified
* FMCG / Retail / Manufacturing experience beneficial
* IFRS technical knowledge
* Strong analytics skills interpreting data and providing recommendations
* Excellent communication to liaise with a broad audience
* Advanced leadership, coaching, mentoring and team development skills
