Key Position Overview
A permanent full-time position is currently available within the City's Traffic and Transport Directorate.
This role lies within the Design Services Division in the Traffic and Transport Branch.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on traffic, transport, and road safety issues.
The applicant should hold a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with excellent report writing skills.
To succeed in this position, you will need to be self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality customer service.
Educational Requirements:
A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required for this role.
Prior experience in local government, particularly in traffic and/or transport engineering, is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert advice on traffic, transport, and road safety matters.
Prepare concise and accurate reports for traffic committees, grant submissions, and review development applications.
Establish effective relationships with people at all levels, representing the council capably to developers, consultants, government agencies, and the public.
Familiarity with SIDRA software and ability to interpret results is essential.
Salary and Employment Conditions:
This is a permanent position, working 35 hours per week.
It is graded at Level 6, with a commencing salary range of $95,321 p.a. Progression to $102,649 p.a. upon demonstration of competencies, with further progression to $111,656 p.a. based on performance.
