About Our Client
Our client is a leading player in the resources sector, known for delivering large-scale, high-impact projects across Australia. With a strong focus on sustainability and long-term planning, they're managing the responsible transition of one of their key sites through to closure and rehabilitation.
Job Description
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for a range of capital and remediation projects, aligned with project timelines and budget constraints
- Prepare and issue tender documentation (RFPs, RFQs) for works such as asbestos remediation, civil works, and infrastructure upgrades
- Evaluate supplier proposals using commercial, technical, and risk-based assessments
- Lead negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favourable terms, and added value
- Draft, review, and finalise contracts in collaboration with legal and commercial teams
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure delivery of goods and services as per agreed KPIs
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and relevant legislative frameworks
- Track procurement milestones and support reporting requirements for project managers
- Collaborate cross-functionally with site teams, engineering, HSE, and finance to align procurement with operational needs
- Support post-award contract management, including variations, extensions, performance management, and dispute resolution
The Successful Applicant
- 7+ years of procurement experience, ideally within mining, resources, energy, utilities, or other asset-intensive sectors
- Proven background in construction-based procurement, managing complex scopes and tight timelines
- Experience overseeing multiple concurrent projects ranging from $500K to $5M
- Strong commercial acumen with a strategic approach to sourcing and supplier negotiations
- Proficiency in pre- and post-award contract management, including drafting, administration, and variation handling
- A solution-focused mindset - able to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive value
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across technical and operational teams
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a proactive approach to managing deadlines
- Flexibility to travel to site (approx. once every 2-3 months for one week)
