This permanent full-time position is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and inclusive team at a co-educational Catholic high school.
The school caters to approximately 736 students with mild-moderate intellectual disability, and/or Autism, requiring individualised adjustments. As a Support Class Teacher, you will work collaboratively with the team to create a welcoming environment that meets the diverse needs of our students.
Essential criteria for this role include qualifications in Religious Education, commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos, and experience teaching in a support class. You will also need to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and an understanding of collaborative curriculum planning, Disability Standards for Education, and positive behaviour approaches.
Desirable criteria include awareness of Diverse Learning Needs Policy, National Safe Schools Framework, and Diocesan Lighting the Way Strategic Plan. The successful candidate will require strong organisational skills, oral and written communication skills, and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
To be eligible for this position, applicants must hold appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Key Learning Areas, be registered to teach with NESA, and have a Working With Children Clearance.
