About the role
Location: Darwin, NT
Position type: Full‐time (may involve weekend or after‐hours work)
We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and collaborative Events Officer to join our Public Programs and Visitor Experience team. The Events Officer plays a key role in planning and delivering high‐quality events, functions, and public programs across MAGNT's Darwin sites. Responsibilities include coordinating logistics, managing venue hire enquiries, supporting clients through the booking process, and ensuring seamless event execution from start to finish.

Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated 2 years' experience in functions coordination, event planning and/or operations including in a food and beverage environment
* Demonstrated skills in the use of systems related to digital ticketing, booking or point of sale systems
* Ability to work with minimum supervision and in a team environment
* Appreciation for cultural diversity and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
* Sound understanding of Work Health Safety (WHS) practices to ensure WHS compliance for events and public programs
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, outgoing friendly manner and a positive 'can do' attitude
* Capacity to work within budget constraints
* High standard of personal presentation
* On occasion perform other duties or special projects in addition to the above key responsibilities as appropriate
* Working with Children Clearance (Ochre card) or ability to obtain
* Current Australian National Police Check is required prior to commencing the position
* Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA) or ability to obtain; this is required for the role
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working within arts, museums and/or cultural sector
* Working knowledge of audio‐visual equipment and the technical requirements of events
* Valid Australian Drivers licence
