About the role Mater Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant/Technician to join our Clinical Trials Team, to work as a Clinical Trials Pharmacy Assistant/Technician (OO3 level) on a 12 month maximum-term contract, working 7.5 hours (1 day) per week, with the possibility of extension. Mater Health, South East Queensland comprises a unique collection of two public and four private hospitals at South Brisbane, Redland and Springfield caring for over 500,000 patients each year including the public and private Mater Mothers Hospitals, a premier women’s health facility and Queensland’s largest maternity care provider having over 10,000 births per year. Salary range: $34.87 - $36.56 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing In this role you will Support the Mater Pharmacy Clinical Trials Unit (MPCTU) in the delivery of a safe, effective and high quality level of pharmacy service to optimise outcomes for all patients and customers of Mater Health according to the guidelines of Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Provide responsive customer-focused service Dispense, assemble and deliver clinical trial medications Ensure accurate and professional approach to all aspects of work Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels Perform stock control duties on all CT medicines and ancillary supplies Participate in quality and service improvement activities Ensure effective communication with staff, departments, and service users Support MPCTU policies and procedures Support the financial performance of the MPCTU Ensure the safe and effective use of investigational medicinal products (IMPs) by ensuring that they are appropriate for use and are procured, handled, stored and used safely and correctly, specifically: Undertake clinical trial establishment and close-down activities Ongoing administration activities such as inventory management, IMP destruction and/or return to sponsor, generating MPCTU service fee invoices and supporting the team when IMP temperature breaches occur This represents a fantastic opportunity to make a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of this community and to contribute to a strong, unified, inter-professional Clinical Trials team at Mater. About you To be considered for this role you must have: Certificate II or III in Hospital/Community Pharmacy (or equivalent) Desired qualities: Previous work experience in clinical trials Good communication skills Passion about clinical trial research and development for better healthcare outcomes and appreciation of the importance of delivering exceptional service every time Professional, hardworking, willing to work cooperatively and effectively with all team members Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice and the AdPha Standard of Practice in Clinical Trials for Pharmacy Services GCP accreditation Why join us?
