The Opportunity
The Quality Assurance Officer, under the direction of the Operations Manager, shall provide an efficient, effective, healthy, and safe range of Quality Assurance Services for all projects.
This will include responsibility for reviewing, inputting, and maintaining all Austal Queensland Shipyards quality assurance processes to meet the requirements of both internal and external customers and authorities.
Additionally, you will ensure the accurate compilation and timely delivery of all required Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) as required by each individual client.
What's Involved
* Coordinate, manage, and quality assure project documentation, compliance processes, and stakeholder information to ensure accurate submission and operational integrity.
* Maintain and enhance quality and compliance by reviewing procedures, supporting audits, resolving issues, and driving process improvements.
* Build and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
* Drive efficiency and continuous improvement within the quality assurance (QA) environment by identifying opportunities and guiding the operations team.
* Understand safety, quality, and business requirements to proactively manage risks, escalate issues, and contribute through relevant business meetings.
* Ensure product quality meets standards before customer review, foster continuous improvement, eliminate waste, and guide supervisors in coaching and developing their teams.
You'll need
Essential
* Previous Quality Assurance experience, specifically within Defence / Commercial industry or similar.
* Experience with Maintenance Operations – marine / ship repair related.
* Experience with Quality Management Systems.
Desirable
* Qualified auditor.
* Trade qualification in relevant field.
