 
        
        Senior Arboriculture Planning Officer – Environmental Assessment 
An exciting opportunity to join the Environmental Assessment team as a Senior Arboriculture Planning Officer. This role provides specialist advice on vegetation requirements for land use development proposals in accordance with Council's Vegetation Management Code and land use policies within the city planning scheme. You will advise on a diverse range of vegetation/arboriculture issues related to the operations of Council's City Development branch and provide guidance in the assessment of Operational Works applications within statutory requirements and Council's aims and objectives. 
Responsibilities 
- Undertake assessment of development applications, operational works (tree works) and management plans per the relevant vegetation management legislation. 
- Prepare reports/correspondence detailing the assessment of development applications against Council's Planning Scheme, policies and guidelines, environmental objectives and relevant legislation. 
- Provide specialist advice on a diverse range of vegetation/arboriculture issues relating to the efficient and effective operations of the Environmental Assessment team. 
- Provide expert advice and guidance to the Town Planners, Landscape Planning Officers, and Environmental Planners in relation to complex Arboricultural matters. 
- Undertake site inspections to ensure that vegetation management and landscaping accords with the planning schemes and conditions of approvals. 
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders from multiple council branches to achieve outcomes in accordance with the City Plan and urban forest planning goals.
