Overview

Job Title: Children and Family Intensive Support (CaFIS) Team Leader
Location: Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region
Employment Conditions: Full Time
Salary: $98,592.16 - $115,679.34 pa

Generous salary packaging: $15,899.94 p/a

Relocation: Up to $5,000 relocation assistance
Professional development incentive: Allowance of $1,500 p/a

Reports to: Piliyintinji-ki Stronger Families Executive Manager

Amazing further benefits: 6 weeks annual leave and personal/carer's leave up to 10 days per year; general dentistry; Remote retention allowance of $1,500 after 1 year of service and $3,000 after 2 years' service

About Us

Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (Anyinginyi Health) is a multi-disciplinary organisation providing primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to "Closing the Gap" in Aboriginal health within remote Australia. Anyinginyi Health comprises four sections (Health Services, Corporate Services, Public Health Unit and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) to take a holistic approach to health, prioritising clients' physical and emotional well-being. The mission is to be a provider of high quality holistic primary health care services in the Barkly region in a culturally responsive way.

Tennant Creek is a modern town located about 500 km north of Alice Springs, with a regional hospital, university, schools, shops, accommodation, bars, clubs, restaurants, banking facilities, sporting clubs and an airport.

About The Role

The CaFIS Team Leader will provide program leadership and necessary support for ongoing development, implementation and facilitation of the CaFIS program within the Piliyintinji-ki Stronger Families Section to support families referred from internal and external agencies. The role leads a small team to ensure services are provided in a culturally appropriate way with support plans that meet identified needs of families and children referred.

Responsibilities
* Oversee a team of case workers and support workers to deliver the CaFIS program.
* Lead ongoing development, coordination and facilitation of positive engagement, interventions, and activities in accordance with CaFIS program guidelines and organisational policies.
* Participate in staff training and development, organisation-wide and site-based team meetings, collaborative planning activities and other relevant meetings.
* Work with the Department of Children and Families regarding reporting and mandated processes as required.
* Foster a professional and culturally safe work environment through supportive management and effective portfolio management of the CaFIS program.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes, including work health and safety, to meet professional and industry standards.
About You

To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate knowledge of Aboriginal culture and deliver services in a culturally responsive manner. You must be able to create and maintain accurate reports and have experience in Child and/or Family Services or similar. Previous experience within Remote Communities, specifically the Tennant Creek Region, will be highly regarded but not essential.

Essential Skills And Experience
* Tertiary level qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, Education or related fields to perform the key responsibilities of CaFIS Team Leader.
* Experience working in Aboriginal community health or welfare services.
* Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and manage a team effectively.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain effective community networks.
* Well-developed communication skills.
* Ability to work in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
* Demonstrated case management skills related to family and child work, and knowledge of relevant legislation.
* Demonstrated experience in project and resource management, planning, coordination and implementation to meet budgets, timelines and objectives.
* Skilled in Microsoft Office and client information management systems to support data collection, analysis and reports.
* Ability to work independently with accountability and persistence.
Desirable
* Experience and knowledge of the Tennant Creek and Barkly Region.
* Ability to speak a local language.
Requirements
* Confirmation of employment is dependent on the outcome of Ochre Card/ Working with Children's Card and a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
* All Anyinginyi Health employees are preferred to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
* All employees must fulfil obligations under the Care and Protection of Children Act (2007) via the Commonwealth Child Safe Framework.
