The Role
The Internal Communications Specialist is a specialist communications role within the Employee Experience team at Queensland Country Bank. As our Internal Communications Specialist, you’ll be responsible for delivering high‑quality internal communications across Queensland Country Bank’s channel architecture, ensuring employees are informed, engaged, and connected to the organisation’s direction, culture, and capability. This is a focused internal communications role that suits a disciplined communications professional who enjoys planning proactively, writing with clarity and purpose, managing multiple priorities, and building trusted, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the business.
This is a full-time position with a standard 38-hour work week, and you have the flexibility to choose between our Townsville Head Office or Brisbane Administration Office as your work location.
Content & Engagement
* Plan and manage communication initiatives, keeping a structured calendar to stay on track.
* Write and edit engaging content - newsletters, intranet articles, leadership updates, and multimedia pieces that bring stories to life.
* Work closely with stakeholders to develop communications and make sure messaging is clear, consistent, and meaningful.
* Turn communication and change strategies into creative content like videos, infographics, and presentations.
* Run internal social media channels to spark interaction, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
* Support the Head of Employee Engagement with communication, change communication initiatives, and strategic messaging.
* Monitor, analyse, and report on communication effectiveness (analytics, engagement, feedback), delivering insights and recommendations to continuously optimise channels and approaches
* Enhance staff skills in communication, collaboration, digital literacy, and content creation through targeted training, guidance, and ongoing support.
Intranet Administration
* Own and manage the intranet; publishing content, managing the intranet inbox, administering access, resolving technical and user issues, maintaining site structure, archiving outdated material, and refreshing evergreen content on a regular cycle.
* Monitor engagement, gather feedback, and roll out improvements to enhance the experience.
* Help content owners keep their pages up to date and looking great.
* Use insights from surveys, analytics, and feedback to fine-tune communication strategies.
About You
* Proven experience and enthusiasm for content creation and internal communications.
* Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills including write clearly, concisely, and compellingly for diverse employee audiences.
* Ability to develop engaging content and innovative communication solutions.
* Excellent relationship-building skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Proficient with intranet sites, SharePoint, Microsoft products, video platforms, and newsletters to communicate effectively with internal audiences.
* Demonstrated capability in content strategy, including message development, audience identification, channel selection, and maintaining a consistent organisational voice across all touchpoints.
* Strong organisational and planning skills including being able to manage a forward-looking content calendar, juggle competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
