Disability Support Worker | Individual Support, Coffs Harbour NSW
Must be happy to do some personal care and have a Driver's Licence with Full Comprehensive Insurance.
Role Overview
Lifestyle Solutions provide innovative and flexible person-centered support for people living with a disability. As a Support Worker, you will assist a customer to become more independent in their own home and in the community.
Responsibilities
* Mentoring and skill development – guiding customers to explore and develop their personal interests/hobbies
* Coaching independent living skills such as cooking, domestic and social skills
* Administering medication and adherence to individual support plans
* Completing clear, concise and factual handover notes and incident reports
* Providing personal care such as toileting, showering, feeding and dressing when required
* Helping customers engage with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities
* Personal care is a must, and you must be comfortable and knowledgeable in doing so.
* Diabetes knowledge or training is ideal
* Peg feeding knowledge is ideal
* Community Access will also be a requirement at certain times.
Requirements
* Be willing to work a variety of shifts which includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers and weekends
* Versatile communication skills including the ability to interact with both verbal and non-verbal customers
* Current driver's license (mandatory requirement)
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or be willing to obtain)
* Current First Aid Certificate, HLTAID003
* Formal qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or similar, would be advantageous
