About Us
MSF Sugar is a leading Australian sugar producer and renewable energy. With over 125 years of history, we are a dynamic and forward-thinking company focused on operational excellence, sustainability and innovation. Based in Far North Queensland and part of the global Mitr Phol Group, we operate three sugar mills, extensive farming assets, and a renewable power station producing green energy from bagasse.
The Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Administration Officer with an interest in data and systems to join our team for a seasonal role (May–December), working a 38-hour week at our Tableland Mill.
This role offers flexibility in scheduling to meet the operational needs of the mill. While the standard expectation is Monday to Friday, hours may vary across the week—this could include occasional weekend work or adjustments to daily hours—totalling 38 hours per week.
This position provides a great opportunity to build on your administrative experience while gaining exposure to data handling, system support, and digital record management within an operational environment. It’s ideally suited to someone who enjoys working with systems and structured information, and is looking to further develop their skills in a practical, hands-on role.
You will play an important part in supporting day-to-day administrative functions, contributing to accurate data management, and helping ensure information flows efficiently across mill operations. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to set you up for success.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide general administrative support across site operations.
* Maintain and manage accurate digital records, databases, and filing systems.
* Perform data entry, validation, and reporting with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency.
* Assist in maintaining and improving administrative and data management processes.
* Support system-based tasks, including data extraction, uploads, and basic troubleshooting.
* Prepare reports and documentation for operational and management use.
* Coordinate correspondence, meetings, and site communications as required.
* Support onboarding administration and employee documentation processes.
* Act as a point of contact for administrative and data-related enquiries.
* Ensure documentation and data practices align with company policies and procedures.
About You
You are a reliable and proactive administrator who enjoys working with data and computer systems.
You take pride in accuracy, are well organised, and are comfortable working with structured processes and information.
What we’re looking for:
* Previous administration experience, with exposure to data handling or systems highly regarded.
* Qualifications in Business Administration, Information Technology, or similar (desirable but not essential).
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* High attention to detail, particularly when working with data.
* Confidence using computer systems, databases, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel skills highly regarded).
* Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
* Clear written and verbal communication skills.
* Integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Current Queensland Driver’s Licence.
Why join MSF Sugar?
* Seasonal role offering consistent full-time hours across the crushing season.
* Opportunity to gain hands-on experience with data and systems in an operational environment.
* Supportive team environment within a well-established organisation.
* Practical exposure to real-time operations and industrial systems.
