Specialist - Asset & Configuration ManagementDepartment : DigitalDivision : Customer & Digital ServicesReference number : 12182The Customer & Digital Services team is responsible for coordinating stakeholder and customer engagement and communications for the Digital Division, as well as providing management, governance, and assurance across operational digital services.This position will collaborate with various parties within the organization to ensure that all IT assets (hardware, software, virtual machines, cloud services, etc.)
are accurately tracked and managed within the asset and configuration management database throughout their lifecycle.Role responsibilitiesAssist in embedding and monitoring operational processes for secure and reliable configuration, classification, and management of configuration items (CIs), including verifying and auditing configuration records.Develop, configure, and maintain tools (including automation, discovery, and service mapping) to identify, track, log, and maintain accurate, complete, compliant, and current information.Report on the status of asset and configuration management deliverables.
Identify problems and issues and recommend corrective actions.Assist and support the planning, capturing, and management of CIs and related information.Collaborate to implement solutions, seek inputs as needed to ensure desired outcomes, and coach others in their roles and responsibilities as CI owners.Experience and knowledgeProven expertise and achievements in implementing and developing Service Asset and Configuration Management processes, particularly CSDM, in complex environments.Thorough knowledge of ITIL processes, especially Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Service Design, Service Transition, and Service Asset and Configuration Management.Strong knowledge of ServiceNow, with experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining asset registers and CMDB on this platform.Deep understanding of automated discovery and dynamic service mapping.Ability to influence decisions through effective negotiation skills, driving change across various levels of the organization and stakeholders.Experience in reporting and analysis related to Asset and Configuration Management processes.Strong stakeholder management skills with a collaborative approach.Education / CertificatesITIL Foundation / ITIL Intermediate Certification (preferred)Must be an Australian Citizen and willing to obtain NV1 or NV2 security clearance.AEMO is an equal opportunity employer.
