We are looking for a capable and hands-on Payroll Manager to take ownership of payroll delivery across the APAC region, with a strong focus on processing the Australian payroll. This is a balanced role, combining day-to-day payroll operations with process improvement, systems work, and regional oversight.
You will be responsible for running the Australian payroll end to end while also reviewing and coordinating payroll activities in the Philippines and Indonesia. Alongside this, you'll support ongoing improvements to payroll systems, vendor performance, compliance, and reporting. This role suits someone who thrives in a delivery focused environment and enjoys both the detail of payroll and the challenge of refining how it's done.
Key Responsibilities
Process end to end Australian payroll accurately and in line with local legislation and deadlines
Oversee and review payroll operations in the Philippines and Indonesia, ensuring compliance and quality
Support payroll related projects including process improvements, systems updates, and automation initiatives
Act as the go to point for complex payroll queries across the region
Work closely with HR and Finance to ensure data integrity and effective integration with HRIS systems
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure data privacy and compliance obligations are met
Assist with internal and external audits and prepare payroll reporting for leadership
Contribute to the ongoing development and support of payroll team members in the region
About You
A minimum of 6 years' payroll experience, with strong hands on capability in Australian payroll processing
Exposure to payroll across APAC is advantageous (not essential)
Sound understanding of payroll compliance, controls, and governance requirements
Confident with payroll systems and comfortable supporting systems improvements or transitions
Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and ability to manage competing priorities
Effective communicator with the ability to partner well with HR, Finance, and external vendors
Experience with payroll platforms such as ADP GlobalView or PayForce highly regarded
Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working in a hybrid environment
