Engineering Manager Job Opportunity
Site Based – South Australia
We are seeking a skilled engineering manager to lead our maintenance and operational teams at Jacinth Ambrosia in South Australia.
Jacinth-Ambrosia is a Tier 1 deposit with extensive reserves, located 270 kilometres north of the Port of Thevenard, near Ceduna. It is the world's largest source of zircon, and demonstrates high environmental standards and progressive land rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will take full accountability for the performance of the engineering and operational maintenance functions and deliver sound maintenance, engineering and project management to ensure assets are constructed, maintained and improved in order to ensure medium and long term plant reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the maintenance team and provide technical advice and direction to meet company standards and objectives in a cost effective manner.
2. Guide the technical teams in problem solving and decision making using maintenance, engineering and project knowledge.
3. Drive engineering effectiveness through quality engineering deliverables, performance management, and safety and sustainability in design and constructability reviews.
4. Review engineering designs using applied understanding of design, construction, operation and maintenance requirements and practices.
5. Support Projects team by providing technical input into engineering reviews and contribute to project execution strategies.
6. Champion identification of risks and ensure they are actively managed throughout project phases.
7. Ensure port facilities are adequately maintained to avoid disruption to the supply chain and prevent non compliances to environmental standards.
8. Apply coaching and mentoring skills to help develop and support both maintenance and engineering teams.
9. Actively manage the execution of the Facilities contracts at Jacinth Ambrosia.
About You:
* Experience in leading maintenance and engineering teams on remote operations.
* Formal qualifications in either engineering or mechanical/electrical trades and experience working at a mining site.
* Demonstrated Mining & Resources experience.
* Thorough understanding of the requirements of the maintenance aspects of the Mines Act and Regulations as well as relevant technical standards and regulatory frameworks.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills along with sound judgment, decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
* Ability to interpret technical information across multi engineering disciplines and provide advice to teams of industry professionals.
* Effective time management, reporting and presentation skills.
