Position Overview
An opportunity is open for a Senior Mechanic to join the Council depot. Working proactively with the Coordinator Plant and Fleet, this position will play a crucial role in supporting Council’s operations and will be responsible for managing and coordinating the allocation and deployment of resources to deliver safe, cost effective and timely maintenance and servicing on Council’s fleet of plant and equipment.
Essential Qualifications
* Trade qualified (Motor Mechanic)
* HR driver’s license
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Plant and Fleet Coordinator – responsibilities of the position include:
* Sustaining the operational integrity of Council’s plant and equipment
* Offer guidance and assistance to plant operators regarding proper maintenance and operating protocols
* Working safely and effectively to achieve goals in line with planned fleet maintenance schedules
The successful applicant will demonstrate high level skills in communication, customer service, time management, problem solving along with the ability to work as part of a team.

The position is offered as full time ongoing employment in accordance with the Local Government Employees Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement within an annual salary range of $79,409 to $81,142 dependent upon skills, knowledge and experience.
