We are working with a well‐established Australian manufacturer that is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead their team at their Smithfield site. The Role
As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will take ownership of coordinating day‐to‐day operations of the maintenance department, ensuring plant and equipment are kept to the highest standard to support production efficiency and workplace safety. This role is a hands‐on leadership position, requiring a mix of supervisory responsibilities and technical expertise across both electrical and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a skilled maintenance team, including daily planning meetings and toolbox talks
* Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance programs using a CMMS (MEX preferred)
* Carry out electrical fault finding and mechanical fitting tasks as required (approx. 50/50 split)
* Organise and manage contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and company standards
* Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to operators and maintenance staff
* Support site maintenance across multiple Smithfield locations
* Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS and environmental standards
* Liaise with managers, suppliers, and stakeholders to optimise plant performance and reliability
About You
* Mechanical Trade or Electrical qualification (essential)
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance environment
* Strong technical knowledge of machinery, systems, and maintenance practices
* Proficiency with maintenance software (MEX highly regarded) and MS Office
* Excellent communication, organisation, and problem‐solving skills
* Current driver's licence (EWP and First Aid desirable)
* Flexible, hands‐on approach with a commitment to safety and continuous improvement
