Our passion is the safety of our people, quality of our products & services and the enrichment of our communities.About the RoleWe are currently seeking a Workshop Manager for our GERALDTON workshop (approx. 4 hours north of Perth). This is a full-time permanent position.Applicant must have hands-on approach with managerial experience in both workshop and onsite projects of overseeing dual trades.DutiesSupervise and provide hands-on leadership for a workshop comprising of Boilermakers, Welders, Fitters and TAsEnsuring all post fabrication, post welding items for dispatch are compliant and meet high quality standardsLiaising daily with Management to ensure a smooth and efficient workflowReview drawings and specifications to determine job requirementsDevelop and review safety documents including SWMS, JHA and Safe Operating ProceduresMaintaining contact with and successfully interacting with suppliers and contractorsOrganise transport and sorting out approval process for invoiceInterview and hiring of new employees (including apprentice each year)Review and monitoring of apprentices and signing off there profilingOrganising subcontractors for W/S breakdownsWork with team to complete W/S Audits and ensure any actions are completedLiaise with site personnel to get urgent jobs pushed throughCoordinate W/S labour to be utilised on sitesSkills and ExperienceEssential Criteria (what's required):5+ years in a similar role (Structural Steel is preferred but not essential)Trade certification (Minimum Cert III in Fabrication Trade)Maintain a high level of attention to detailProminent leadership skillsStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenExcellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsAbility to work well in a teamStrong commitment towards safety and qualityMotivated and hardworking with a professional attitudeCompany and customer focused basedExceptional time management, scheduling and planningSupply a current manual driver's licenceForklift and EWPAbility to pass a medical and D&A screenExperience developing and reviewing safety documents including SWMS, JHA and Safe Operating ProcedurePermanent full-time role based in our main office/ workshop in Geraldton.Large scale projects, variety of mine sites/clients and local works throughout WAGreat salary package and long-term career progressionEmployee Benefit and Reward ProgramDiscounted Private Health PremiumsNovated Lease OptionsHow to ApplyDIAB Engineering is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we strongly support diversity in our workforce.
