Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Youth Support Worker. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people living in out-of-home care.
Your primary responsibility will be to engage with and support children and young people who exhibit challenging behaviors, helping them achieve their social, educational, cultural, and emotional goals. You will also oversee their daily care, providing hands-on support in teaching life skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, homework, personal care, appointments, sports, and schooling.
In addition to this, you will develop support documentation, including Positive Behaviour Support Plans and progress reports, assess and support the developmental progress of children and young people, and liaise with stakeholders to share information and contribute to planning.
You will work closely with our team to create activity plans and facilitate community engagement for the young person, and safely support behaviours using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques.
