Mater Townsville delivers a comprehensive range of acute and specialist services across our Pimlico and Hyde Park sites, supporting the needs of the rapidly growing Townsville and North Queensland region.The Engineering Services Manager will be key in ensuring our facilities remain safe, efficient, and future‐ready as we continue to expand and modernise our campuses to meet increasing demand.You'll lead the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality engineering and maintenance services acrossMater Townsville'sfacilities. As a technical and managerial leader, you'll drive performance, safety, and continuous improvement in support of Mater's mission and operational goals. In this role, you will:Manage engineering maintenance programs and oversee the operational budget across Mater TownsvilleOversee site security operations. Manage the carpark and associated systems/processes.Provide technical and managerial leadership to a diverse maintenance teamEnsure plant and equipment reliability through proactive, preventive, and predictive maintenance planningEstablish and maintain maintenance programs that meet relevant standards and workplace health and safety requirementsOversee safety systems and compliance, including permit‐to‐work and risk management processesDevelop and implement improvement initiatives to enhance service efficiency and sustainabilityCollaborate with internal and external partners to align engineering operations with business objectivesLead, coach, and develop staff, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and excellenceContribute to strategic planning and resource optimisation to support Mater's broader infrastructure goalsAbout you You're a skilled and proactive engineering leader with a strong technical background and a passion for continuous improvement. With extensive experience managing complex maintenance operations, you bring both strategic insight and hands‐on leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high‐performing engineering services. The ideal candidate will have:Extensive management experience (10+ years) in multi‐trade maintenance, either insourced or outsourcedProven ability to lead technically diverse teams in complex maintenance environmentsExperience in managing contractorsExperience in managing small to medium size projectsAnalytical and problem solving attributes as it relates to building infrastructureA strong focus on safety leadership, compliance, and continuous improvementExperience in healthcare or similar regulated industries – desirableMater is Queensland's largest not‐for‐profit healthcare provider, delivering exceptional care to nearly 700,000 patients each year across 11 (soon to be 12) hospitals.
