Auto Electrician – Heavy Vehicle
About the role
At Busabout Wagga, we are seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to join our team in Wagga Wagga, NSW. This full-time role will see you play a vital part in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing the electrical and electronic systems in our fleet of buses, ensuring they remain safe, reliable, and compliant. Experience or knowledge in air-conditioning systems will be highly regarded.
What you’ll be doing
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on a range of buses, including wiring, lighting, charging, and control systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair electronic systems such as CCTV, GPS, and ticketing equipment.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on electrical systems.
- Perform testing, fault-finding, and repairs to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant.
- Support air-conditioning servicing, repairs, and diagnostics as required.
- Document all work performed and maintain detailed service records.
- Work collaboratively with the wider workshop team to ensure the efficient operation of our fleet.
- Comply with all relevant safety and regulatory standards.
What we’re looking for
- Formal qualifications in Automotive Electrical Technology (or equivalent trade).
- Proven experience as an Auto Electrician, ideally in heavy vehicles, buses, or similar industries.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with modern electronic systems.
- Knowledge or experience with bus/vehicle air-conditioning systems will be highly regarded.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
