About the role
As an Electronics Technician in our Service Delivery team, you’ll be the hands-on expert who ensures every EDMI meter leaving our facility is robust, accurate and ready for the smart-grid era. You’ll thrive on detailed fault-finding, product modifications, enjoy building prototypes and love collaborating with like-minded technicians and engineers.
We’re looking for a practical problem-solver with a passion for quality, a customer mindset and the confidence to speak up with improvement ideas.
In this role you will:
* Diagnose and fault-find EDMI products to component level, conducting repairs and upgrades in line with best practice
* Perform Quality Checks, testing and pre-delivery set-ups to stringent industry standards and EDMI requirements
* Modify equipment and build test systems / prototypes (PCB soldering & wiring, etc..)
* Generate clear work instructions, procedures and keep meticulous test records
* Repair and assess customer returns, including warranty evaluation
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Electronics Trade Certificate (Cert III/IV) or Diploma
* 1+ year post-trade experience in an Electronics Service Centre or Workshop
* Strong analogue/digital troubleshooting, the ability to read electrical schematic diagrams
* Strong practical soldering experience (through-hole & SMD) skills
* Proficiency with Electronics Diagnostic Instrumentation, Digital Oscilloscope, Digital Multimeter
* High attention to detail, safe work habits and commitment to quality systems
* Intermediate Competence with MSOffice (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Experience in working with Safe Work Method Statements (SWMSs)
* Clear written & verbal communication and a collaborative, can-do attitude
Highly Regarded:
* Knowledge of IT Programming Software (Python, C, etc..)
* Experience with Smart Metering
* Mechatronics Qualification and Project Experience
* Knowledge of ISO9001 & ISO17025 Standards
* Soldering Skills – Certification & Training to IPC-J-STD-001 & IPC-A-610
* Experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Environment
