Overview
Experienced Hospital Speech Pathologist required for an 8–12 week locum to start ASAP. Based just two hours from Melbourne, you'll join a team of 8 Speech Pathologists. The caseload is adults. It is a Grade 2 level role, experienced Grade 1 clinicians also welcome to apply.
Key Details
* Duration: 8–12 weeks
* Location: dedicated allied health houses within walking distance of the hospital (accommodation provided, inclusive of all bills)
* Pay: locum rates paid weekly
* Option for a six‑month contract (with accommodation) or permanent role
Responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality patient care in admitted services (acute/sub‑acute) with a varied and changeable caseload.
* Independently assess, plan, recommend and implement a wide range of speech‑pathology services to inpatients recovering from trauma, surgery, acute illness, neurological deficits and more.Prioritise and manage workload, make clear decision‑making and support team communication.
* Manage adults with disorders of communication and swallowing within a hospital setting.
* Use videofluoroscopy competency (highly regarded).
Qualifications
* Experienced Speech Pathologist (Grade 2 preferred, Grade 1 welcome).
* Strong clinical skills within a hospital setting.
* Experience managing adults with communication and swallowing disorders.
* Competence in videofluoroscopy (highly regarded).
* Collaborative and supportive communication skills with team.
