Offer description

We are hiring in Hobart

Work where you live either part-time or full-time

* Are you an NDIS Suitable Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner?
* Would you like to join a progressive team that will support and value you?
* Work in this hybrid role both from home and within the community utilising your Positive Behaviour Support skills

About us:

We are an NDIS-registered provider, and we work throughout NSW, QLD, VIC, WA, and TAS. Some of our practitioners specialise, but across the entire organisation, we work with all ages, all diagnoses, and all behaviour.

About the role:

This role has the flexibility to either be part-time or full-time. This is a hybrid working from home and mobile role. You will be based at home and will go out to visit people in their homes, schools, workplaces, programs, and in the community.

Being a Behaviour Support Practitioner will involve working with people and their support networks to bring about behavioural change. We do this by understanding the relationship between a person's environment (social and physical) and their behaviour, and then influencing that person's environment so that it sets them up for success. Another important part of the role is supporting skill development, to ensure people have effective ways to get their needs met.

Our practitioners meet with clients, conduct assessments, analyse behavioural data, develop strategies and Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs), support the implementation of those strategies and plans, monitor progress, and review where necessary. The role involves other elements, too – connecting with other team members, attending training, participating in projects or research, facilitating workshops, and more. We are proud to have a diverse and passionate team, and we support people to lean into their strengths and interests.

About you:

* You are an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner
* You are registered with the NDIS as a suitable Behaviour Support Practitioner
* You value integrity, collaboration, and transparency
* You have relevant undergraduate qualifications (Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Early Childhood, Teaching, Special Education, Social Work, Counselling or similar)
* Ideally, you have postgraduate qualifications or are working toward them
* You are passionate about this work – the science and the people
* You are friendly, empathetic, and a clear communicator
* You have experience working with children and people with disability, and you are familiar with the NDIS
* You have experience undertaking functional assessments and developing PBSPs
* You have experience in coaching families and support workers, ideally in implementing PBSPs that you have written
* You have a current driver's license and an insured roadworthy vehicle
* Current NDIS endorsement (NDIS Worker Screening), as well as a current Working with Children Check
